Grace Church is privileged to partner with local non-profit Olive Crest, an organization that has been helping children and families in crisis for over 50 years. Olive Crest provides providing resources and support to prevent child abuse and neglect and also provides a safe home for children, teens, and young adults. They also offer counseling, education, and life skills.
Grace Church supports Olive Crest in various ways. We try to meet specific program needs with church drives and financial support. Even more importantly, we support Olive Crest’s Safe Families program where volunteers open their homes to children whose parents are experiencing a crisis.

Become a Host Family
You can become a short term host family for a family in crisis (a few days to a few weeks) while that family becomes more stable and gets support. Extend the love of Christ to people from your own home! Learn how to be a Host Family at Olive Crest.

FIRST NIGHT BAGs
A first night bag contains essential items for a child or infant’s (age 0-10) first night in a new home or foster care. You can fill a bag with PJs, socks, toiletries, a stuffed animal, diapers, wipes, books, a night light and gift cards. Then, bring it to Grace Church on or before Nov. 17th.

Harvest Hustle 5K
Here’s a fun way to support local families in need! Grace Church Youth has organized a Thanksgiving-themed fun run in North Park on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Come dressed as your favorite Thanksgiving dish Fun for the whole family! Proceeds benefit Olive Crest.

Join Foster Ministry
Do you have a heart for Foster Families or becoming more involved with a Foster Care Organization? Join Grace Church’s Foster Care Ministry as they support social workers, foster families, and kids in care, here in San Diego. They partner specifically with Olive Crest.

Buy a car seat
One of the biggest needs in the Foster Care community is brand new carseats. CA safety laws prevent pre-owned carseats. You can bless a Foster Family by purchasing one of the most requested models below. Then, bring it to the church and we’ll get it to Olive Crest.

Donate a Family Basket
Here’s another way to bless a Foster Family! Put together a basket full of goodies, snacks, games, activities that would be fun for the whole family. Purchase your items, then put together the basket with your own family or House Church and bring it to the church.
