BRENNA BULACH
MISSIONS RESIDENT
Enneagram: 6w5 | APEST: Shepherd | Myers Briggs: INFJ
Background: I spent most of my childhood growing up in Union, Kentucky, which is just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio. So you won't hear a southern accent! I grew up going to a Presbyterian church where I was very active in the youth group and built a solid foundation of faith.
I went to undergrad at Centre College in central Kentucky and the world pulled me away from Jesus. I walked away from the church (but not entirely away from my faith). I got a job teaching marine biology outdoor education on Catalina Island right after I graduated from college. So I moved out west to California and haven't left! I moved to San Diego in 2009 to go to grad school at SDSU, where I received my Master of Science in Biology. I was hired at Scripps Institution of Oceanography as a marine biologist in 2012, where I am working on a 40+ year kelp forest monitoring project.
God reconciled me to Him again in 2020 and I was transformed in an instant. I was baptized in August 2021, went on my first mission trip to Guatemala in 2022, and have since been on 3 additional trips with Grace Church to Peru, Thailand, and another trip to Hope of Life in Guatemala. It's been a tough journey to stay steadfast and obey, but I know God is calling me to missions and has put a burden on my heart to proclaim the gospel to those still living in darkness.
Current Role: As Missions Resident, I coordinate our team trips to serve with Hope of Life in Guatemala. I help lead day trips to Tijuana to work with our partners at Spectrum Ministries. I am also on the Global Missions Committee at Grace to help create and plan opportunities for our church to share the gospel locally and abroad. And lastly, as a leader in the Prayer Ministry here at Grace, I also believe that an intimate and vibrant relationship with the Lord is a necessary component of missions and results in the desire to obey His commands to love Him and to make disciples of all nations.
Hobbies: Hiking, camping, painting, reading.
Fun Fact: I have done over 2,000 dives on scuba in my lifetime!
