JESSICA Lee

FIRST IMPRESSIONS RESIDENT

APEST: Shepherd/Teacher | Spouse: Ryan Lee

Background: I grew up in a multigenerational Filipino household in south bay San Diego. For school, I got my Bachelor’s of Science in cybersecurity with an emphasis in digital forensics. During undergrad, I took a work-study position as an after school tutor for a nonprofit and that experience made me realize that I wanted to pursue more relational work. Since then, I have worked as an operations associate with the City of San Diego and as a youth development mentor with the San Diego County Office of Education.

I started attending Grace Church more consistently in 2021 through attending the Thursday night young adults group and have been blessed with a wonderful spiritual family. I also met Ryan during this time and he eventually invited me to serve as one of his co-leaders with La Jolla Young Life. We got married in August of 2023 and now we are preparing to serve as long-term missionaries in Japan in the coming years!

Current Role: As the First Impressions Residents, Ryan and I will be helping to recruit, train, organize, and schedule our incredible team of volunteers that are responsible for welcoming all of our guests on Sundays. We are excited to play our part in recreating that warm, joyful experience for all who step foot on our campus every Sunday!

Hobbies: Playing board games, solving jigsaw puzzles, and occasionally playing tennis with Ryan.

Fun Fact: Every time I see a stray cat around the church, I call him “Steve!”
