As we celebrate the Christmas season this year, let’s remember the greatest gift of all, Jesus!
Today, let’s start by watching the story of the birth of Jesus, then we will finish our series on generosity.

Activity:

Review Questions:
1) When you help someone who can’t repay you, who are you giving a gift to? Jesus
2) What do you think is the most important thing about Christmas? Answers will vary.
3) What do you think is good about giving gifts to people who can’t pay you back?
4) Share some good times to give gifts to Jesus by helping people who can’t repay us. Help kids see giving is good every day, anytime.
5) Think about the Bible story in Konnect HQ. What are some things Jesus said His “sheep” did for Him? They shared love, friendship, food, a drink, and a place to stay.
6) Everyone needs help sometimes. Talk about a time you needed the gift of love, friendship, food, a drink, or a place to stay.
7) What makes Christmas a great time to give a gift to Jesus? Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus’ birthday.
8) What can you do this week to give a gift to Jesus?

Ask kids to share things they’d like to pray about
Pray together over the prayer requests.

Hey Grace Families!

Generosity starts in our hearts and is more than just giving gifts and money. This week, let’s talk about being grateful.

Just like last week, we have a new option for you! If it is more convenient, kids can watch this online service including the same lesson video, worship songs, a modified activity, and modified review questions.

Activity:
Christmas is coming, and even if you don’t get every gift you want, there are still lots of things you do have that you can thank God for. Let’s play a thankful game together, say things you are thankful for that start with each letter of the alphabet from A to Z.

For Example:
A: I am thankful for airplanes.
B: I am thankful for the bible!
C: I am thankful for cake.

Review Questions:
1. When do you think it’s hard for someone to be grateful?
2. Who has something to be thankful for, no matter what happens? Everyone who believes in Jesus.
3. What does it mean to be grateful? You are thankful and happy to have what you have.
4. How do you think people feel when they’re grateful? Ideas: thankful, generous, peaceful, trusting God, etc.
5. How do you think people feel when they’re not grateful? Ideas: unthankful, selfish, complaining, jealous, etc.
6. Which makes you grateful: getting everything you want, or being thankful for what you already have? Being thankful for what you already have
7. What do you think makes some people more grateful than others?
8. What are some things you do that make you less grateful? Ideas: whining when you don’t get what you want, being jealous, etc.
9. What do you think will help you to be more grateful? Ideas: thank God for what you have, remember what Jesus did, etc.

Pray Together:
Ask kids to share things they’d like to pray about
Pray together over the prayer requests.

Not sure what to pray? Pray this: God, thank You for all the amazing things we have to be grateful for when we believe in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activity: God’s People
God made everyone. They all have feelings, just like you! You learn to care about others when you think about how they feel.

You’ll Need: Photographs. books, magazines, or websites that show people feeling different emotions.
Feeling Words: Mad, sad, happy, worried, silly, tired, sick, scared, surprised, etc.

Directions
1. Look at the pictures
2. Ask your family how the people in the pictures are feeling.
3. Talk about how you know the person feels that way.
4. Talk about a time you felt the same way.

Practice answering today’s question and saying the Bible verse together.

1) How do you think a person acts when they’re serving money instead of God? Ideas: selfish, dishonest, worried, greedy, etc.
2) How do you think a person acts when they’re serving God instead of money? Ideas: Thankful, generous, trusting God, etc.
3) What do you think is good about giving a tithe of your money to God before you spend any of it? Ideas: reminds you God gave you money, helps you trust God, shows thankfulness, etc.
4) Are you best at giving, saving, or spending your money?
5) If you get some money, what do you think you can do with it to serve God?
6) What do you think will help you remember to serve God with your money?

Little’s Kids Programming for December 13th

Activity: Lions’ Den
You’ll Need: Cave-building materials (sheets, blankets, clothespins, chairs, stools, etc.)
Say: The den of hungry lions was a scary place. Daniel prayed and trusted God. God helped Daniel and kept him safe. God will do that for us, too. Let’s play a game called ‘Lion’s Den.’

Directions
1) Build a cave together. It’s the lions’ den! Go inside it with your kid.
2) Pretend to be a fierce, hungry lion, and let your kid pretend to be Daniel.
3) Help your kid show what Daniel did to fight fear in the lions’ den: pray and trust in God.
4) As your kid prays and acts brave, get calmer and pretend to take a lion nap!

Practice answering today’s question and saying the Bible verse together.

Activity:
You can find God’s promises in the Bible. Look up each Bible verse from the verse bank and write it inside the gift box it matches!

The choices we make can show others God is our Dad. Finish each sentence below with a loving choice you can make.

Review Questions:
1) At Konnect HQ, Ray, Mike, and Harper picked special Christmas ornaments. What did the ornaments remind them of? Ray: God keeps His promises; Mike: God doesn’t hide things from us—He tells the truth; Harper: God helps us do the work He gives us to do.
2) What do you think faithful means? Keeping promises, being there for people, trustworthy, etc.
3) God keeps His promises even when we make mistakes. What do you think about that?
4) How can waiting on God with a good attitude help you? It grows patience, hope, faith, excitement, etc.
5) God always keeps His promises, but sometimes we have to wait. What do you think it’s like to wait on God to answer a prayer?
6) Share a prayer you waited a long time for God to answer, or a prayer you’re still waiting for God to answer.
7) What can you do to learn about the promises God made to us? Read the Bible, ask someone who knows God’s promises, pray, learn at church, etc.
8) What’s a promise you can make and keep this week?

Say: The Bible teaches us when we read it! We can learn the truth about God’s love and how to live like Jesus!

1) Open the Bible and say something that is true about God. Use the Truth List for ideas.
2) Have all of your kids repeat the truth after you.
3) Take turns saying truths for each other to repeat.
4) Have your kids come up with their own truths!

Truth List:
1) God loves you!
2) God is always with you.
3) Jesus is alive.
4) God wants to be your friend.
5) Jesus makes you friends with God.
6) Jesus never sinned.
7) Jesus is God’s Son.
