Hey Grace Families!

Jesus chose 12 disciples to follow Him while He lived on earth.
Jesus still invites us to be His disciples (even as children!), and choosing to follow Him means we can have a big impact on our world.
Let’s finish our series of Discipleship!

Let’s Worship God!

Worship Songs:
Raise A Hallelujah:

Our God:

For All My Days:

Activity:

Say: When you copy Jesus’ example, Jesus can use your example to teach others how to be disciples. When they copy you, they’re copying Jesus! Let’s play a game about that!

Designate one child as the “leader” and place the children so that they are facing each other. (If you only have one child, you can play with them). The leader positions her body and asks the other child to mimic that position. For instance, the leader may put one hand on their head and one hand on their belly. The other child follows.

Review Questions:
1) When you’re following Jesus’ example, who can follow you? Everybody
2) What is a disciple? A person who follows learns from and lives for Jesus.
3) To copy Jesus’ example, you need to know what He did. What do you think will help you find out what He did? 4) Read the Bible, learn at church and from others who know Jesus well, etc.
5) How do you think it helps others when you follow Jesus’ example? Ideas: they can learn how to follow Jesus from your example, they can grow closer to Jesus when they copy you, etc.
6) When do you think it’s hard to follow Jesus’ example?
7) What’s one thing you can do this week to follow Jesus’ example?.
8) Who can you be an example to this week?

Pray:
God, thank You for Jesus’ example. Please help us to copy Him every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hi Grace Families!

Sin makes our hearts dirty! Eeeew! Ask Jesus for His love and forgiveness. He will wash your heart pure and clean from sins. Stay pure by saying, “No!” to sins, like Jesus did when he was tested in the desert.

Let’s watch today’s lesson video!

Activity
1. Read A Test in the Desert on the Bible App for Kids or using these story cards: CLICK HERE

2. With your child, choose something in your house to remind you of each word in the Story List.

Story List:
Jesus
Satan
Rock
Bread
Angels
Bible
Mountain
Water

3. Read the story again. When something from the Story List is mentioned, point to the item that reminds you of it.

4. Help your child retell the story using the items.

Practice answering today’s question and saying the Bible verse together.

Activity:
Activity Supplement ‘Know Jesus’: CLICK HERE

1) Give each kid a piece of paper and crayons.
2) Kids write or draw ways to get to know Jesus better.
3) As kids write, read ideas off the activity supplement in any order.
4) Kids say, “That helps!” when the idea your read helps you get to know Jesus and say, “That doesn’t help!” when it doesn’t.
5) Help kids fold the paper like an accordion and wrap one end in tape to create a paper fan.
6) Kids test their fans to see how far away they can hold it and still feel the breeze they create.

Say: You have to be close to this fan to feel the power of the wind it creates. It’s kind of like what happens when you get to know Jesus better every day. When you’re close to Him, you’ll know His power and see it working around you!

Review Questions:
1) What is a disciple? A person who follows learns from and lives for Jesus.
2) When you get to know Jesus better, what else do you get to know? The power of God’s Holy Spirit.
3) If you know you’ve seen or felt God’s power, talk about what happened.
4) Think about today’s Bible story. (From Matthew 13:19-23) What kind of soil do you think you’re most like? Path, rocky, weedy, or good
5) What makes you think you’re the kind of soil you picked? (From question #4)
6) What can you do this week to get to know Jesus better? See supplement from activity time for ideas.
7) If you forget about spending time with Jesus, what do you think will help you get back on track? Write a reminder, ask a friend to help you remember, talk with Jesus the same time each day, etc.

4) If the “House” decides they’re built on sand, they fall over and shout, “I’m on sand!”
5) Play as many times as you like, taking turns being the “house.”

Practice answering today’s question and saying the Bible verse together.
*An extra coloring sheet is added at the bottom of the page for your enjoyment!

Pray together:
Not sure what to pray about?
Pray Blinky’s Prayer: “Dear God help me learn everything Jesus wants to teach me so my life will be strong! Like a rock, instead of like squishy sand! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
