Hi Grace Families!
We are continuing our worship series learning about who is #1. You guessed it! God!
In today’s bible story, we will learn about an idol, the golden calf. Moses was sent down the mountain to teach the Israelites to worship the one true God with the 10 commandments!
Have a Worship dance party with your family!
This Is Amazing Grace:
Who You Say I Am:
This Little Light:
When We Serve:
A blank piece of printer paper
Say: One way to keep good things from distracting us from God is to make room for Him, first! Let’s start by writing “God” really big on the paper, first- and then we can add in all the other things He’s blessed us with.
Write “God” in huge letters on the sheet. Take up as much space as you can with the letters.
Kids draw or write things they enjoy in the spaces around God.
Say: God gives us so many good things, and that’s great! But when they’re more important to us than God, they’re like distracting idols. Keep God first! Worship him only!
Talk About It:
How do you think you can keep from crowding God out of your life?
What things distract you?
Who were we made to worship and serve? (The Lord Our God! Lk 4:8)
When is something an idol?
What do you spend most of your time on?
What things are you good at?
What do you always want to spend money on?
Think about your answers to 3, 4, aand 5. How can you tell if those things are idols or not?
What might distract you from spending time with God first?
What can you do this week to show God is first?
Grace Kids, we would love to hear from you! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how you are doing, if you have any prayer requests, or just want to talk. We want to be here to support you through this difficult time!
