God has given us a strong heart and calling to reach our own city. At Grace, there are four quarterly events each year that we host in order to reach the community around us. Also, we partner with local organizations that provide opportunities for Grace Church to serve the community of San Diego.
One of them is a college campus ministry called Intervarsity. We support this amazing organization and Jason Belcher‘s ministry on the USD campus! Intervarsity has been on the USD campus for 20 years and has a large group meeting called “Encounter” and around 10 small groups that meet throughout the week.
We also have many ways to get involved and making an impact in our local community through our Non-Profit Organization called Project Reach. Check out their website for opportunities to make an impact, or email us at email@example.com!
In Guatemala we partner with Hope of Life as they care for some of the most impoverished families outside of Guatemala’s capital, Zacapa.
We are excited to have established a long term relationship where we are sponsoring a small village called Buenos Aires. We will be building a church, a school and a well for the village, as well as providing job training and development in the future. We are blessed with this opportunity to serve alongside some amazing people! We will take annual team trips to Guatemala.
Every year we recruit and train a team to travel to a small town in Northern Thailand called Mae Sot. Mae Sot borders Burma and is known for having a large community of Burmese Refugees who put their lives at risk to come across the border each day. We team up with our partner organization, Compasio, who empowers vulnerable women and children.
Before the devastating earthquake of January, 2010, Grace Church leadership had an strong passion to go to Haiti to send teams to share God’s heart. At that time, Grace SD raised support to help a specific ministry in Haiti. We are now partnering with that same ministry, Child Hope International, as they care for at-risk youth.
Each year we recruit and send a team to support CHI and gain a valuable experience in their own development in becoming more of a servant leader.
Door of Faith Orphanage is located in La Mision, Baja California, Mexico. For over 50 years Door of Faith has served orphaned children and the impoverished communities around them.
We are excited to send multiple groups each year down to DOFO to serve and grow!
